The Register ENT Regional Teaching

Attendance summary

Each academic year runs August to July and has its own table — pick a year below. Live figures recalculated from check-ins, excused absences and long-term status. Adjusted attendance excludes excused sessions and any month a trainee was on leave or post-CCT from the denominator.

✓ Attended Missed e Excused – Not eligible (leave / pre-start / post-CCT)

Session check-in

Display the QR at the teaching day — trainees scan, pick their name, and they're logged instantly. Or check people in manually below.

Logs the trainee as present for the active session, recording the grade they're at this rotation.

Excused absences

Declared absences (leave, on-call, sickness, study leave) are removed from the denominator, so a missed-but-excused session doesn't count against the trainee's adjusted attendance.

Long-term status

Set when a trainee completes training (CCT), goes on maternity / paternity leave, out-of-programme (OOP/PhD), or transfers (IDT). Sessions outside their active window are marked “not eligible” and excluded from both numerator and denominator.

Trainees & sessions

The roster of trainees and the calendar of monthly teaching days. Everything above is built from these two lists.

Month they joined the programme. Sessions before it don't count for or against them, and they're left out of earlier years. Blank: an ST3 starts this August; anyone else counts for every session.

Grade keeps itself up to date: whatever a trainee picks at their next sign-in replaces what is held here, since it changes between rotations. Set it by hand for anyone who has not signed in yet, or use Edit on their row to correct a name, grade or email. Email is used to send certificates — trainees without one are asked to add it when they next sign in.

Users & access

Organiser accounts for this register: who can sign in, and which of them can manage this list. Everyone here sees the same register — being an administrator adds this tab and nothing else. Trainees never have an account; they use the QR code and the feedback link.

Leave the password blank to email them an invitation — they follow the link and choose their own. Set one here instead if their address can’t receive our mail: tell them what it is, and they can change it later from Forgot password? on the sign-in screen.

Deleting an account removes the sign-in only. Nothing in the register — trainees, attendance, excuses, feedback — belongs to an organiser account, so nothing here is lost with it.
